Sustainable Water Management Solutions for Professionals (5 days) [CATSWM]

The course is designed to suit all levels of knowledge, from less experienced professionals through to those with extensive knowledge wishing to develop specific expertise. Training will be relevant to contractors, consultants, developers, landscape architects, local authorities, self builders, and anyone needing to satisfy the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The course is divided into two parts.

Part 1: provides a detailed overview of how to manage water sustainably in and around buildings, providing you with the knowledge to select appropriate technologies and design sustainable systems. You will be taught how to reduce consumption and create water-efficient buildings. You will also be introduced to the range of alternatives to mains water, considering independent water supply (how to find, clean and store water) and the role of rainwater harvesting and grey-water recycling systems. Finally you will be taught the principles and techniques of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) for buildings and developments.

Part 2: provides a technical training in the installation of rainwater harvesting systems. This course is BPEC accredited and will teach how to combine and install the various elements of harvesting systems, ensure continuity of supply, and comply with water regulations.

If you wish to sit the BPEC exam there will be a charge of £50 for the examination fees and you must have proof of being a qualified plumber or building services engineer and send in copies of these qualifications prior to the course starting.
