Solar Water Heating Systems (3 days) [CATSWH]

This course is for those who want to further understand and appreciate some of the theory and practice of solar water heating systems, including types of collector, energy storage, plumbing and controls. It will leave you with a sound knowledge base to talk to installers and decide if Solar Water is a suitable option for your domestic setting.

Hands-on practical sessions cover constructing a simple collector and working solar systems. Theory sessions include: how to choose a solar water heating system; safety considerations; and a guide to regulations and grants. Examples are shown of working solar systems at CAT.

Although there is a strong practical content to this course, it is not intended for professional installers and a prior knowledge of plumbing, although useful, is not essential.
